What is ovodonation?
It is a fertility procedure that consists of donating a woman’s eggs.(donor) to a person (recipient) in order to achieve pregnancy. The eggs will be fertilized with sperm to form embryos and these will be transferred into the recipient’s uterus. It is important to clarify that this procedure does not reduces the ovarian reserve nor does it cause problems for a future pregnancy of the donor.
Steps to be a donor
- Conduct a clinical interview with a fertility doctor
- Pass personal and family history questionnaires
- Perform transvaginal ultrasound
- Perform laboratory studies (blood and gynecological)
- Perform psychodiagnostic tests
- Perform genetic studies
- Approve pre-surgical
